Polychaete Branchiomma Arctica (Marine Worm, Feather Duster Worm). These worms can be kept in suitable modern aquariums, its body is buried underground with the retractable feathers in the water to catch its food.
Marine worms are 60 million year old creatures that still survive to this day. There are 28,000 known species with new ones still being discovered, some scientists estimate a possible 100,000 species exist. They are little miracles capable of surviving many different environments including some some varieties that live on volcano edges and can survive 105°C.

These marine worms are extraordinary! I had a lot of fun drawing this one, it made me slow down and really think about how the feathers needed to be layered to show depth, the light and shade and the difference in texture between its very delicate 'feather' fronds and its smooth, segmented body.
