  • Description

A depiction of a tattoo from the Siberian Ice Maiden (Princess of Ukok, 5th Century BC) who was found with her two warriors by her side. The tattoos are widely regarded as being some of the best preserved, ancient tattoos ever discovered. Here they are enhanced in Bad Dave style.

Mugs (Printed to Order)

  • Large (10oz) white china mug with accent black handle, rim and inner.
  • Dishwasher & Microwave safe. For best care, wash in the dishwasher’s lower basket for by hand.

Greeting Card

  • A5 greeting card with pen & ink drawing of a Mule Filly (female).
  • The card is blank inside and comes with a plain white envelope, both are made from sustainable materials and 100% recyclable.
  • The card finish is designed so you can write easily on it (even in good, old fashioned ink as I do; got to love a bit of old school!) with no issues.

A4 Mounted Print (Printed to Order)

  • Printed as a 6" x 9" image on high quality, slightly off-white watercolour paper giving a smart, crisp finish.
  • Fixed to a white, bevel-cut mounting card ready for you to frame at home.

A4 Framed Print (Printed to Order)

  • Printed as a 6" x 9" image on high quality, slightly off-white watercolour paper giving a smart, crisp finish.
  • Fixed to a white, bevel-cut mounting card, and sealed into an A4 black frame.

Original

  • Created on A4 white 300gsm, smooth watercolour paper
  • The edges sit inside the white, bevel-cut mounting card so remain visible.
  • Sealed into an A4 black frame.
  • Certificate of Authenticity fixed to back of frame along with a wax seal imprinted with Bad Dave's Orleander blossom.

Bad Dave Says

Well, I think it's a Mule Filly, it didn't come with a label so I took a view and figured that 'mule'  could apply particularly seeing as the oldest mules discovered date back to 3000 BC so it's a viable possibility!

Another tattoo from the second warrior buried with Princess Ukok. It's been adapted slightly to make the image easier to interpret and pair with the Filly image in this series. This one really made me understand the deep observation skills the original tattoo artist had, the curves of the spine where it meets the rump, the tiny little fetlocks above its hooves...they really understood the shape and form of their subjects; it was a humbling and wonderful lesson.
